1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing Jordans Electrical Ltd.
These Terms of Trade outline how we provide our electrical services and what you can expect when working with us.
By accepting a quotation, booking an appointment, or clicking “I agree”, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms.
We provide our services using a combination of:

Our in‑house engineers, and
Approved Partner Contractors who have passed our screening and compliance checks.

All work delivered by Approved Partners is carried out under our policies, standards, insurance, and oversight.

2. Definitions
For clarity:

“Service Work” – jobs under £500 or expected to take less than one full working day.
“Project Work” – jobs over £500 or involving multiple stages.
“Quote” – our written price for the work.
“Variation” – any change to the agreed scope.
“Start Date” – the confirmed date on which works are due to begin.
“Compliance Forms” – our digital Pre‑Job and Post‑Job forms completed on site.
“Approved Partner” – a vetted subcontractor authorised to carry out work for us.

3. Our Service Commitment
We will carry out all work:

With reasonable skill and care
In accordance with BS 7671 electrical safety standards
Using qualified engineers or Approved Partners
With appropriate insurance and quality checks
Using our secure digital systems for documentation, evidence and invoicing

You agree to provide safe access, accurate information and a suitable working environment.

4. Quotes, Pricing & Variations
4.1 Quotations
Quotes are based on the information provided at the time.
If site conditions differ (hidden defects, access issues, unsafe wiring), the Quote may be revised.
Quotes remain valid for 30 days.
4.2 Variations
Any additional work outside the original Quote is treated as a Variation.

Variations will always be priced separately
No Variation is carried out without your approval
Approved Variations are added to the final invoice

If urgent safety issues are discovered, we may carry out minimal work to make the installation safe. This is chargeable.

5. Payments
5.1 Service Work (<£500 or <1 day) Service Work must be paid in full upfront to secure your booking. Cancellation Policy Cancellation more than 48 hours before the Start Date → 70% refund Cancellation within 48 hours → no refund This protects our engineers’ schedules and prevents lost labour days. 5.2 Project Work (>£500)
Project Work requires staged payments as follows:

30% deposit – required to secure your booking
60% interim payment – due at the mid‑project milestone
10% final payment – due on completion

Once a stage is complete, the related payment becomes non‑refundable.

5.3 Invoices
Invoices are issued through our digital job management system.

Domestic customers must pay within 7 days
Commercial clients must adhere to the payment terms stated on the invoice

Unchallenged invoices after 7 days are deemed accepted.
Late Payments
Interest may be added at:
8% above the Bank of England base rate
plus reasonable recovery costs.

6. Access & Delays
Please ensure:

We can access the property at the agreed time
The work area is ready for us
Power can be safely isolated if required

Additional charges may apply if:

We cannot gain access
The site is unprepared
The job is delayed or rescheduled at short notice
We must return due to conditions outside our control

Timelines may shift if delays arise from illness, supplier issues or hazardous site conditions.

7. On‑Site Responsibilities
To ensure the job goes smoothly, please:

Remove or protect fragile items
Disconnect sensitive equipment (e.g. PCs, TVs, charging equipment) before testing
Inform us of any known hazards
Ensure an adult is present if minors are on site

We accept no liability for damage to items left in working areas.

8. Compliance & Digital Documentation
We use digital compliance forms to ensure quality, accuracy and accountability.
Before Starting Work
The engineer/partner completes a Pre‑Job Form, including:

Access and safety checks
Confirmation of job scope
Before photos
Risk assessment
Variation request (if required)

After Completing Work
A Post‑Job Form is submitted, including:

After photos
Test results
Materials used
Notes
Any approved variations
Customer confirmation block

Failure to complete compliance forms may delay certification or invoicing.

9. Waste Removal
Waste removal is not included unless specified in the Quote.
If you request it, an additional charge will apply.

10. Guarantee
We provide a 12‑month workmanship guarantee from the date of your final invoice.
This covers:

Installation faults
Workmanship defects

This does not cover:

Damage by others
Misuse
Wear and tear
Faulty customer‑supplied materials
Pre‑existing installation issues

Materials Warranty
Manufacturer warranties apply to all supplied materials.
If a warranty claim is required:

We will assist with supplier contact
Labour to remove/reinstall materials is chargeable
Replacement materials are only free if supplied under the manufacturer’s terms

11. Liability
Our liability is limited to the amount paid out under our public liability insurance.
We are not responsible for:

Indirect or consequential loss
Business interruption
Loss of profit
Damage to sensitive equipment not disconnected prior to testing
Delays beyond our control (e.g., supply chain issues, weather, network operators)

Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Use of Approved Partners
Some work may be delivered by Approved Partner Contractors who have undergone our screening and quality checks.
Approved Partners:

Work under our supervision
Follow our compliance processes
Are covered by our quality assurances and documentation
Must comply with all safety and workmanship standards

This ensures you receive a consistent, high‑quality service regardless of engineer allocation.

14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be resolved under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
